Paul O’Loughlin 

Paul is hands-on at the helm of the company. Coming from a business background, he appreciates the benefits of a smaller-sized operation that’s always in close communication with its customers. His partner, Alina, is the former owner’s daughter, and Paul’s strong family values extend to the long-serving and loyal team he now works with. As a sales expert focus, he is knowledgeable and well-honed in the best customised solutions. Along with golf and Formula One, his passion is technology. He ensures the company is at the front of new developments and opportunities. When explaining the amazing benefits of new automation and technical advancements in blinds and shutters, Paul is the expert here. He’s available to recommend the wisest choices to make home life easy.​

Alina has proudly taken on the legacy of her well-loved and respected father, Terry Mora.. Alina is now set to immerse herself with her business ‘family’ over the coming years, by upgrading financial systems and helping New Style Blinds and Curtains remain a trusted leader in the industry.

Alina Mora​

Having started in the industry in 2006 Jemma has a tertiary level qualification in Interior Décor and has been with New Style since 2014. Having knowledge in all aspects of window furnishings, including being our Shutter Expert, Jemma is an invaluable member of staff. Growing up on a farm and having learnt to sew as a youngster her practical knowledge and problem solving, along with her love of beautiful fabrics, means Jemma can create a look personalised to what suits the homeowner’s dream.​

The longstanding ‘Jill of all trades’ is likely to be the person you will get when you call. Having been with the company for two decades, “Are you still there?!” is often a surprised remark made by many a repeat client. Shona also makes the installer appointments, orders fabrics, talks clients through the options in the showroom, and ensures everything comes together seamlessly. Shona hails from the days of “the cheque’s in mail” but now sends out the invoices, and knows where each client’s project is at, at all times.

Shirley has been sewing all her life. Previously running her own home curtain-making business, she has been an invaluable asset to the company for nearly six years. She blends the practical and sensible, with a perfectionist’s flair for what looks fabulous - and always to budget. Having worked on thousands of houses in her time, she has that rare instinct to knowing what will work well and look great, by having that eye for detail - from curtain headings to fabrics. Offering a mobile service, she will happy come to the client’s homes, from Timaru to Hanmer, for a quote and caring, expert advice.

Shirley Allan​

Hailing from Inverness in bonnie Scotland. Ian arrived on our shores in 2002 - for the love a Kiwi gal. With a background in banking and business, he keeps the company books and financials operating ship shape.​

Karen has 47 years experience working in the soft furnishing trade. The first 34 years for 1 company cutting, sewing and assembling holland blinds. Karen also made speciality blinds which were bonded out of curtain fabric

In 2002, Karen started working from home on contract for New Style Blinds and curtains making screen blinds for them.

In 2004, Karen made the change to work in the factory. The last 3 years I mainly been making roman blinds and curtains. I have about 50 years experience as a machinist. I can also cut and sew vertical blinds.


Carol started with New Style Blinds in 2004 having previously worked in the industry for 9 years. Carol currently runs our Timber Blinds and venetian department. Married with no children but a dog


Alanahas worked at New Style Blinds since August 2014. I started making Verticals and Assembly holland blinds. Now I run the holland blind department.


Hi, I’m Rosalia Pata and I started working for New Style Blinds & Curtains LTD on Nov 14 2016. . I help with Cedar Bunds and vertical blinds but mainly roller blinds. I enjoy my work and I enjoy working with these lovely ladies and the whole team.


Previously owning his own business in Melbourne, Wayne has been with the team for six years. Having been in a business owner’s shoes, he’s perhaps a rare breed in installers, priding himself on punctuality and quality customer service. When he says he is going to be there at a set time, he will be. If he’s going to be a little late, Wayne will give you a call - he takes pride in a skilled job well done.​


Initially employed by New Style Blinds part time to assist with the removal and refit of window coverings for EQC repairs. Darryl took over running this department in 2013 and gradually moved more into Installing new Blinds, curtains and Shutters
